First Steps

Creating and publishing (putting it up on the web) your first website isn't difficult at all. Our purpose, in this tutorial, is to show you the whole process step-by-step. At a high level the steps are:

Set up your local environment (if necessary)
Choose a text editor
Design how you want your site to look
Write the XHTML for your pages
Find and register a name for your site
Use a special program to copy your site onto the web
